FAQ's
Q. How often should I send out an eNewsletter?
We recommend that you send your eNewsletter
out at least once a month, ideally two times per month. This will ensure
that your business remains 'front of mind' without overloading the customer's
inbox.
Q. How long
should my eNewsletter be?
eNewsWriters, Inc.will create eNewsletters for you of
up to 800 words. The actual length of the eNewsletter will depend on
what information you wish to include and on aspects such as the publication
frequency. If the content is worth reading then length does not really
matter.
Q. Is it a good idea to include advertising?
Carefully targeted advertising can add
value for the customer and create revenue for you. Keep it to one or
at the most two ads per newsletter. Customers will want to read your
eNewsletters for their content not to be exposed to large numbers of
ads.
Q.
I'm worried about being accused of spamming.>
That's why it's important to ask your customers' permission before you
send them an eNewsletter. Privacy is an increasing important and sensitive
issue, made more so by the seemingly unstoppable growth of junk email.
Allow customers to opt in to receive the email,
preferably a double opt-in process to be on the safe side. Forthcoming
anti-spam legislation could have a knock-on effect for legitimate marketers
so make sure you get things right from the start.
Q.What
should I put in the subject line?
We'll advise you on this when we create your eNewsletter. It needs to
be something that catches the customer's eye and clearly identifies
your business so that they will open it instead of hitting the 'Delete'
button.
Q.
Should I have a consistent format or vary it each time to keep it fresh?
People like things which are familiar - that way they know how to find
things easily without having to search for them each time. Remember
that just because you are tired with a particular format doesn't mean
that your customers are. Don't change things just for the sake of it.
Q.
What sort of things should I put in the e-newsletter?
Target the content to the needs of your customers. Make it interesting
to read, relevant to your customers and up-to-date. See our eNewsletter
Checklist for more information. And don't worry - we'll take
care of the words for you.
Q.
What about copyright issues?
Make sure that your content does not infringe anyone else's copyright.
Put a copyright message on your eNewsletter too to protect your own
information.
Q.
Can I link to specific pages on my web site from the eNewsletter?
Yes you can include text links in the e Newsletter. It will make the
experience of reading it more interactive for your customers. It saves
you from having to put all the information in the eNewsletter too.
Q.
How can I track and measure the success of my eNewsletter?
There are a variety of ways you can do this ranging from tracking codes
to special software. A lot depends on what you wish to measure and on
what statistics analysis and technological
resources you already have in place.
This will enable you to measure your return
on investment and to see what works best.
